Perth United

This project was created by Steven Helhammer and Jacob Kenny as a way to unite and encourage the Perth rock scene to collaborate and build new connections.

The core concept was to put together a band of random musicians in a studio for a day and get them to write, record and release a song in 12 hours – one song per month over a year to create an album representing the best of the upcoming scene.

Once the song is done, the participants then use it to encourage their friends, family and fans to donate towards Telethon through the Perth United community fundraiser.

So far, the project has had over 40 different musicians and recorded 10 songs – all to an incredibly impressive standard over various genres of rock – and raised over $7,000 for Telethon.

The project is concluding in October 2022 with the last song, premiering live on TV during the Telethon weekend.
